Dr. Neil Anderson

Professor Emeritus, Missouri University of Science & Technology | Principal Geophysicist, Maxima Geophysics, Dallas TX.

Dr. Anderson is internationally recognized for his expertise in engineering geophysics. He was employed by the Missouri University of Science and Technology for more than 25 years and continues to work as a consultant and short-course instructor. Neil developed and taught numerous university and industry short courses focused on geophysical methods. He also developed an accelerated MS Degree program for military offers stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood and taught military-relevant geophysics classes to those same officers. Dr. Anderson’s university and consulting field crews routinely utilized imaging tools including electrical resistivity tomography (land and marine), induced polarization, self-potential, ground conductivity, metal detectors, ground penetrating radar, surface waves, impact echo, reflection seismic, refraction seismic, echo sounding, sub-bottom profiling, and side-scan sonar. The geophysical data were typically acquired in support of geotechnical, structural, pavement, bridge deck, and subsurface utility investigations. Dr. Anderson has a track record of teaching geophysics short courses and workshops to practicing geophysicists, military personals, geologists, engineers, and managers. Dr. Anderson has a Ph.D. in geophysics from University of Calgary and have published over a hundred and fifty peer-reviewed geophysical papers and abstracts.
